@prologic Do you use anything for analytics?
stuck between a girl and a box
@bender > “Have I just encountered the face of the devil?”
Well he is a Marine Corps veteran and they do have the nickname of "Devil Dog". :-)
@aelaraji I use to be a pot or more a day but have cut that back in the last 4 or so years to just 2-3 cups. Main reason was because I was getting jittery which didn't happen before. I do think it is good to go without periodically (probably applies to more things than coffee) to just reset the system.
I don't drink it often but decaf's taste has gotten better too.
@bender welp, thanks for this (entire stream)... got it accounted for (commit) on my own as well now :)
@aelaraji Ugh, similar thing with bots (ai and crawlers) over here.
@movq That is a good question, I've been on v0.17.3 for some time. In the past there has been one scheme update that I remember and the there was no issue. Maybe this next week I will try out v0.18 and post back.
I really don't mess with it being on a cron so tend to forget until I need it :-)
@bender How is Borg? I have used restic for so long I haven't looked at anything else.
@bmallred I just realized I was only suppose to do 5 miles at pace and not 8.
@lyse i appreciate you updating this with that info. been in the weeds at work so haven't been tracking the conversation here much. let me sit on this for a bit because often times the edits are within seconds of first post so maybe maybe i just allow them within a certain time frame or do away with them all together. i really only do it because it bugs me once i notice the typo :)
@lyse Gotcha. That makes sense. Doesn't hurt the systems but definitely can break the thread.
@andros Oh, this system has an edit button so I can just update the twt as needed. It's a custom implementation so just kind of through it in when I was building it out.
@andros Do edits cause problems? I sometimes make them and didn't realize it may be an issue
@osnews Its been so long and never really thought about it.
- Arch was great but always had issues.
- Gentoo was great but not enough patience to compile when I need something quick for work.
I haven't really looked back since I installed Void. Sometimes it is a pain when things don't play well with MUSL but nothing that would make me change course.
@thecanine I don't mind the FUTO keyboard either but it is pretty basic. Going to have to try out helio
@bmallred i really need to sit down and add some rate limiting to be honest.
@lyse yeah, i have the following as well:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
now i some middleware that looks at the header, and if they are polite enough to include "bot" in the user agent, they politely get a 404 response.
@movq Nice, at first my brain went assignment versus equality, but then after a sip of coffee I got it.
@prologic the dd
command is my favorite command: https://youtube.com/shorts/j95yzoRGxWc?feature=shared
@prologic Where do I find those at? I have the 2024 year back but it may be nice for the others!
@lyse thanks for checking! it is a work in progress. i journal as well so may just be a manual process to get some of the data back in, but not going to rush it unless it is dorking someone's feed.
@movq I didn't realize elves were considered malicious either.
@prologic Nice. My muscle memory defaults to visual block mode then insert across rows for this circumstance. It's funny how you do things so often without thinking about a different way of doing it.
@bender so much rain. a lot of us thought we were non-flooding (or non-evac and zone x) but still had water come in the houses in pinellas. been an interesting past month!
@aelaraji one i use quite frequently is when i have a list of items (1 per line) and want them sorted but only keep those which are unique: ggV}:sort u
@prologic haha, thanks! my wife definitely thought i was crazy for even thinking of it.
@bmallred overall this was pretty good and the run-walk intervals kept my heart rate low.
at around 0400 a car came racing (90-100 mph) down gulf blvd towards my direction. it turned its headlights off and actually lost traction at point and skidded a bit. okay, kids. then a bit later i hear the car coming back behind me... so i got as far to the right as i could in case the car skids again. as it passed me i looked over my shoulder and saw a police vehicle a bit back w/o lights on yet. then looking in front another cop and then they blocked the lanes to get the driver to stop. driver decided he wasn't stopping and tried to swerve around the police and ended up ping-ponging between sides of the road. enough of that...
took a wrong turn after going over the first bridge, but luckily it went in a loop. didn't really know exactly where i was going anyways and was just winging it from the get-go.
the rest of the run was pretty uneventful and just a fun experience. crazy idea accomplished.
@prologic i've used it on some small side projects and it was great. my 8-5 gig isn't too keen on it yet which wasn't surprising.
just pushed a quick fix... let me know if it is still dorked up! thanks for calling it out, too!
@aelaraji great find! i'll update that :)
@prologic thanks! i normally enjoy the long runs because i just zone out.
@prologic 1. allow only members of your pod to submit feeds 2. some kind of captcha (eew) 3. probationary status after submittal which requires review of some sort 4. rate limiting to slow down submissions from the same source
@prologic I normally use gimp, but this project is pretty intense: https://orama-interactive.itch.io/pixelorama
for simple and quick drawings my kids use https://pixelart.com
@prx something like this? https://labs.tineye.com/multicolr
@prologic I see in my feeds header I am following two instances for you:
- follow = prologic https://twtxt.net/user/prologic/twtxt.txt
- follow = prologic https://neotxt.dk/user/prologic/twtxt.txt
maybe this is an issue?
@bmallred notes from the diary
kept it easy since my left glute is a bit tight w/ some pain. just ran back and forth in the neighborhood hitting those rolling hills. nice chill to the air even though no rain.
@johanbove hope all goes well. my Buddy did the same but alcohol was involved so that falls on him.
